The Campaign
The NISAR UAVSAR AM-PM Campaign was a NASA field study aimed at collecting synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images to develop and test new algorithms for the upcoming NISAR satellite mission. The UAVSAR AM-PM included one deployment during the boreal summer and fall of 2019, based at Ellington Field in Houston, Texas. The NASA G-III aircraft was equipped with Uninhabited Aerial Vehicle Synthetic Aperture Radar (UAVSAR) to acquire L-band imagery over forested and agricultural areas in the Southeastern United States during morning and afternoon hours for biomass estimation and agricultural classification. UAVSAR AM-PM was funded by NASA's Earth Science and Interior Program and Terrestrial Hydrology Program.
